1/24/04 GT1 Slot Car Enduro
(Humberger $100):
The
Humberger $100.00 Racing Field:
On January 24, 2004
NCPHOBBIES.COM held the first slot car race in the North Coast Road
Racing Super Series. At the end of this enduring
series a winner will be crowned King of the North
Coast slot car tracks.

The first event in this series consisted of racers
running 4" GT1 slot cars on the classis American
Hill-Climb. All slot cars ran a 8/28 gear ratio, had
a sealed 16D motor, and raced under the Tri-State GT1
rules.
The race consisted of a
round robin with 7 1/2 minute lanes on the antique 135
foot American Hill-Climb slot car track with crossovers.

This event brought the best slot car racers from the North
Coast of Ohio. Racers of both the past and present
came together to battle at NCPHOBBIES.COM.
A total of 16 slot racers entered this event.

The Slot Car Race Winners:
After all the dust stopped flying and the lap totals were
calculated Otis Young came out the slot car race leader with 613
laps. He was followed in second by Rob Steinfurth and
Tom Zinninger. Great Slot Car Race Guys!
The Winning Slot Car
|
Otis Young drove the slot car pictured to the left to
victory. The car is the new JK chassis outfitted
with minimal lead and body pin tubing. This was
the first time this slot car chassis was race at the North
Coast and it performed great.
The winning driver took
home $100.00 in $1.00 bills. The slot car is once
again pictured to the right sitting on top of it's
winnings. Congratulations Otis on a great race.

We would like
to thank all of the entrants and the people that helped
make this first slot car event in the North Coast Road Racing
Series a great success. The next event in this
series will be held on February 29, 2004 at NCPHOBBIES.COM. The event will consist of Super 16D
GTP slot cars and a GT1 Class. The GTP class will be ran
on the Hill-Climb and the GT1 slot car class will be run both on
the 60 foot oval and 135 foot Hill-Climb. We hope to
see you at the next event and thanks again for a great
race.
