What
track is the best?
The
next question that you may be asking yourself is what track should I purchase
to get started in this exciting hobby? The answer to this
question is really based on what you want out of your 1/32 slot car
set. We typically recommend Ninco and Carrera tracks because of their
size and because of their quality. These track are both of very high quality
and have characteristics that make them stand out above the
rest. If you want a set that will provide you years of racing action I
recommend that you consider one of these two types of track. Just in
case you are still not sure about what type of track that you want we will
give you a little bit more detail on each type of track below.

Carrera Exclusive track is actually 1/24 scale track that
comes with 1/32 scale slot cars. This track allows you to run both
1/24 scale slot cars that you race at a commercial track and 1/32 scale slot
cars. This track is the widest available with the widest lane
spacing. This track is very stiff and when you add the included clips
the seams are almost invisible between straights. With this track you
are able to expand up to 6 lanes and the high banks and bridges are top
quality. This track would be your best option if you plan on having a

Ninco track is one of the best 1/32 slot car tracks on the
market. This track hooks together very well, has a lip that keeps the
rails in place, and also has a very wide variety of parts and accessories
that you can purchase for the track. This track also has an adapter track
that you can use to hook it to Scalextric/SCX track. When you purchase
a Ninco track you are getting a track that is wired with brakes and you can
also get a terminal track that will let you run a separate power pack to
each lane with out difficult wiring. This track also has aftermarket
companies such as Parma coming out with a wide variety of high performance
aftermarket parts. You can expand this track up to 6 lanes wide.
If you want a track that is very easy to expand that has more accessories
then you could ever want then this is the track for you.

Riggen track can be classified as a classic. Riggen
track has been around for years and still maintains the quality that the top
quality newer tracks offer. Riggen track is a very stiff track with a smooth
track surface. If you have this track now then I would recommend
sticking with it. This track hooks together very well, all of the 1/32
slot cars will work on it, and it also has mounting holes on the sides to
mount it to a table. The only downside to this track is that you can
only build a four lane set with it and extra accessories are limited.
Other then this the track is top quality and ranks very high on our
list. This track is great if you like really stiff track and you are
going to make a simple layout.

This track is similar to the Riggen track as far as
surface and stiffness. This track is also a high quality track that
from long ago. This track has adequate lane spacing and width making
it a good track for a 1/32 slot car set. The only downfall to this
type of track is that it is no longer manufactured. A lot of the track
still exists so if you do have this type of track you might consider keeping
it and purchasing additional track pieces. Bachman and Strombecker
track are the same thing and connect together.

Scalextric track is the narrowest of the 1/32 slot car track
that is available. This track also has very narrow lane spacing.
If you already have Scalextric or SCX track Ninco makes an adaptor track to
upgrade to the larger track size to increase the size of your layout. This track and Scx track are
interchangeable. You may also have to cut down a few of the guide
flags on certain 1/32 slot cars to run them on this type of track.
